Rakevo Privacy Policy

Rakevo ("we", "us", "the app") is a messaging and vehicle-management service that lets drivers contact each other by license plate number without exposing their phone numbers.

This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have. We process personal data in accordance with Israel's Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981 and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Data we collect

Account data

• Email address (this is your login)
• Password (stored only as a cryptographic hash)
• Display name or nickname, if you provide one

We do not require a phone number to register.

Vehicle data

• Make, model, year, fuel type, roadworthiness test (TEST) date — automatically retrieved from public government registries (gov.il) using the plate number you enter
• Data you enter yourself: mileage, expenses, insurance and driver's license renewal dates
• Documents and photos you upload to in-app storage

Messages

• Chat content between users, timestamps, and delivery/read status

Technical data

• Device identifier and push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging)
• App version, OS type and version, interface language
• Crash logs and basic usage analytics
• IP address (retained for a limited period to prevent abuse)

Location data

• We do not collect your location. Rakevo does not access your device's GPS or approximate location. Map features (such as finding a nearby garage) simply open your device's map app with a search term — we never receive your position.

2. How we use data

• Authenticating you and operating your account
• Delivering messages between drivers and sending push notifications
• Auto-filling your vehicle profile and sending reminders for TEST, insurance, and license renewals
• Storing your documents and tracking expenses
• Letting you compare your car's running costs with those of other owners (community browse), according to your public/private setting
• Letting you rate and review a car model, and read other owners' reviews
• Preventing spam, harassment, and fraud
• Improving the app, diagnosing errors, and providing support
• Meeting legal obligations

Legal bases (GDPR): performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) for core functionality; consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for push notifications, location, and marketing; legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) for security and abuse prevention; legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).

3. What other users can see

A core principle of Rakevo: users never exchange phone numbers. In chat, the other party sees only your vehicle's plate number and any display name you set. Your phone number, email, and address are never disclosed to other users.

Community car browse

Rakevo lets drivers look up a car by its plate, and browse cars of the same model, to see that car's real running costs. You control this with a single public / private setting (Profile → Community):

• When your profile is public, other users can see your vehicle's running costs shown by plate: mileage, the amounts you logged for fuel, servicing and insurance, your annual roadworthiness test cost, and — if you entered them — your driving type and fuel consumption. They can also message you by plate, as in chat.
• When your profile is private, your car is hidden from these listings and no one sees your individual figures.
• Either way, your figures may be used anonymously and only in aggregate (for example, a model's median cost across many owners), so that going private never removes you from the anonymous averages. Aggregates never identify a specific car or owner.
• Never shared this way: your uploaded documents and photos, and the details Rakevo never collects — name, phone, email, address.

A license plate is inherently public information (it is visible on your vehicle), and these figures are costs rather than identity — but if you would rather not share them, set your profile to private. Do not send personal information in chats that you would not want disclosed.

Reviews & ratings

You can also write a review of your car's model — an overall rating, category scores, quick tags, and an optional free-text comment. Your review is published to other users to build that model's community rating (the "Rakevo Score"), and — when your profile is public — it is also shown on your car's card by plate; when your profile is private, your review is not shown on a card that identifies your car. A review is your opinion about a model, not personal identity — please don't include personal information in the free-text comment. You can edit or delete your review at any time, and reviews can be reported for moderation.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data.

We share data only with:

• Other users — the messages you send them, and, when your profile is public, your vehicle's running costs and any model review you write, shown by plate (see Section 3)
• Infrastructure providers — cloud hosting, database, push delivery (Firebase / Google Cloud), crash analytics. They act on our instructions and are bound by data processing agreements
• Insurance and service partners — only if you explicitly consent to receive an offer or initiate a request yourself
• Government authorities — in response to a valid, lawful request

Some providers are located outside Israel and the EEA. Such transfers are protected by EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or adequacy decisions.

5. Retention

• Account and vehicle data — while your account is active
• Messages — until you delete them or your account is closed
• Logs and technical data — up to 12 months
• After account deletion, data is erased or anonymized within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data and receive a copy
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and data ("right to erasure")
• Restrict or object to processing
• Port your data in a machine-readable format
• Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal)
• Lodge a complaint with the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority (PPA) or your EU supervisory authority

7. Security

We use encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, password hashing, and least-privilege access controls for staff. No service can guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you and the relevant regulator of any significant breach within the timeframes required by law.

8. Children

Rakevo is intended for users aged 18 and over (licensed drivers). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If such data reaches us, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

For material changes, we will notify you in the app or by push notification at least 14 days before they take effect. The last updated date is always shown at the top of this document.

Delete your Rakevo account

This page explains how to request deletion of your Rakevo account and the personal data associated with it. It applies to the Rakevo mobile app published by Vlad Belenki.

Option 1 — Delete in the app (fastest)

1. Open the Rakevo app and sign in.
2. Go to Settings → Account → Delete account.
3. Confirm the deletion. Your account and associated data are removed immediately, and any remaining copies are erased within 30 days (see below).

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you can no longer access the app, email us and we will delete your account for you:

What data is deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently erase:

• Your account details — email address and password hash
• Your display name / nickname
• Your vehicles and the data you added to them (mileage, expenses, insurance and license renewal dates)
• Documents and photos you uploaded
• Your chat messages and delivery/read status
• Your device identifiers and push notification tokens

What may be kept, and for how long

• Data is erased or anonymized within 30 days of your request.
• Technical logs (e.g. IP address, crash logs) are retained for up to 12 months for security and abuse prevention, then deleted.
• We keep only what we are legally required to retain (for example, records needed to comply with a lawful request), for no longer than the law requires.
• Messages you sent may remain visible to the other participant of a conversation, as they hold their own copy.
